Spice Girls 2026 Reunion Rumours: Are We Getting a 30th Anniversary Celebration?

🕒 Reading Time: 6 minutes

I’ve loved the Spice Girls since the first time I yelled “Girl Power!” into a hairbrush. Emma Bunton, my forever favourite, was everything I wanted to be; soft pastels, big heart, bright smile. So the whispers about a 30‑year anniversary celebration in 2026 have me feeling like it’s 1996 all over again.

While the girls first formed in 1994, 2026 marks thirty years since they took over the world with Wannabe. And if there’s even the tiniest hint of a reunion? I’m already reaching for my baby pink lipstick.

So… is anything actually happening?

Here’s what we know so far.

Melanie C has been the most hopeful voice lately. She’s said the girls are incredibly proud of their legacy and that they “have to celebrate that in some way this year.” She’s also shared that Emma Bunton is rooting for it, and that she and Melanie B are basically the reunion cheerleaders nudging things forward.

On The Rebecca Judd Show on Apple Music, Mel C said the words every Spice fan clings to, “talks are happening.” She explained that they’re chatting, exploring opportunities, and want to make sure that if they do something, they do it properly. And even admitted they’re a little scared of “doing it the wrong way,” which somehow makes the whole thing feel more real… because you only worry about that when something’s genuinely on the table.

That’s not a tour announcement… but it’s not nothing, either.

A quick reminder of where we left off

The last time all five girls performed together was the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony.

In 2019, Mel C, Mel B, Geri Halliwell‑Horner, and Emma Bunton reunited for the Spice World Tour, but Victoria Beckham stayed focused on her family and fashion house, a completely fair choice, but still one that left a teeny gap on stage.

Since then, the buzz hasn’t really stopped, its just shifted into hints, headlines, and hopeful whispers. And because life loves a rumour, there’s been stories about clashing schedules, hesitations, a little distance (especially between Geri and Victoria), and solo projects (hi, Mel C) that have kept everyone guessing about whether a reunion could actually happen.

But now it’s their 30th anniversary, and the vibe between them feels warmer than it has in ages. For this super fan, that’s more than enough reason to dust off my platforms.

Why it matters so much (and my Cardiff tour memory)

I think fans are extra emotional about the possibility because the magic never really leaves you. We saw the Spice Girls live on their Spice World 2019 tour in Cardiff, and it was pure, glitter soaked chaos from start to finish.

Picture it:
The stadium buzzing, everyone dressed in some version of Spice merch (except me in my emergency backup outfit, I had a fake‑tan‑meets-drink disaster and had to abandon my Spice It Up tee), neon signs glowing, the opening beat dropping and the whole place practically levitating.

We screamed every lyric like we were back in our childhood bedrooms with posters peeling off the walls. I left with sore cheeks from smiling and a hoarse voice from singing, the best kind of damage.

We even threw a teeny Spice Girls themed sprinkle for our bestie Tasha, because we’re all 90s girls at heart and any excuse for a bit of glittery nostalgia absolutely counts.

We had five individual mini cakes (one for each Spice), a Mama sash, and my original Spice Girls photo album and CD’s… yes, the ones I rescued from the loft. And yes, the album is complete with all 120 collectible photos, practically a museum piece at this point.

Moments like that stay with you. And when you realise millions of other fans have their own Spice Girls memories tucked away too, a 2026 reunion suddenly feels really special, like we all get to revisit a little piece of our 90s selves.

So what now?

Until anything’s confirmed, I’m keeping my hopes high and my playlists higher. And if the girls step out on that stage in 2026?

I will be unbearable in the best possible way.
