From the surprise location to the sentimental touches, this weekend was a dream come true. So grab a prosecco, and let me take you through the ultimate hen party experience, equal parts glam, giggles, and girl power.

🏡 A Hidden Gem in Wales (That Even I Didn’t Know About!)
Let’s start with the surprise location. I work for Visit Wales, so you’d think I’d have Cymru covered, but my brilliant besties managed to find a hidden gem I’d never even heard of: Dylan Coastal Resort. When we pulled up and I saw the sign, I was buzzing with excitement, part “where even is this?” and part “this is going to be lush.” Full-on hen energy. Who knew my own backyard had such a boujee retreat?
Tucked away on the Carmarthenshire coast, this resort is pure luxury. Infinity pools, spa bliss, and the kind of peaceful setting that makes you forget your wedding to-do list even exists.

💖 Friday Night: Barbie Dreams & Pyjama Glam
If Barbie had a sleepover in a luxury coastal lodge, this would be it. It had that unmistakable Malibu Barbie vibe, glamorous but relaxed, playful yet polished. Picture this: a private hot tub bubbling away on the deck, panoramic views of the estuary stretching out like a postcard, and inside? A soft pink glow from heart-shaped balloons floating on the ceiling, a cocktail station ready to serve up something fabulous, and a buffet of pink treats crowned by the prettiest homemade cake you’ve ever seen. It wasn’t over-the-top, it was just right. Thoughtful, stylish, and I was so here for it!

The Dress Code
Each girl embraced Barbie-core, everyone wore matching pink pyjamas, creating the ultimate sleepover squad aesthetic. I stood out in bridal white satin, wrapped in a floor-length lace robe that floated behind me like a veil of glam. On my feet? Fluffy Boux Avenue white slippers that made me feel like a bridal Barbie lounging in her dream house.

My nails were Barbie pink, completely unplanned, but perfectly on theme. It’s my go-to colour, so it felt like fate (or just really good taste).

The Aesthetic
- A pink balloon arch framed a sparkly silver backdrop, creating the ultimate photo moment.
- The cocktail station was a total showstopper. A glowing neon sign simply read “Cocktails”, and rows of elegant martini glasses were lined up, ready to be filled with our signature drink of the night. It felt like Barbie’s own mini bar.
- Pink heart-shaped helium balloons floated gently on the ceiling, adding a dreamy, whimsical touch that made the whole space feel like a celebration.
- The “Miss to Mrs” banner was perfectly placed across the TV, tying the room together with a subtle nod to the bride-to-be (me!). We also had a set of matching selfie props, think oversized sunglasses and pink glittery signs.
- A pink buffet was beautifully displayed on the kitchen island, with treats like angel cake, strawberry wafers, marshmallows, and the standout dessert, my pink cake!

The Cake
And speaking of the cake, pink, pretty, and perfectly on theme. The cake was a lovely surprise, baked by Jess’ mum. It was such a thoughtful touch and added that homemade charm to our Barbie-inspired spread.

It was a classic sponge layered with jam, topped with glossy cherries, and finished with a sleek acrylic topper featuring my name. Soft pink on the outside, sweet on the inside, and totally on theme, it looked picture-perfect in the centre of the buffet and tasted just as good as it looked.

The Goodie Bags
These were next-level thoughtful, each guest received a clear PVC bag with their name on it in soft pink lettering. Practical, pretty, and perfect for showing off all the goodies inside.

Inside, the bags were filled with:
- Mini tequila rose bottles, each topped with a tiny Barbie-pink cowgirl hat, equal parts adorable and iconic.
- Custom bride accessories (in mine): white bridal sunglasses, a “Bride” bracelet, and an oversized plastic straw that made every sip feel like a celebration.
- Pink-themed sweets with “Corrina’s Hen” labels.
- Face masks and pampering goodies for that spa-night feel, ideal for winding down after dancing or hot tub lounging.
- Pastel pink mini pencils with tiny hearts on them, cute, dainty, and perfect for filling out the advice cards.
- And the most sentimental touch: handwritten advice and wish cards, tied with a pink satin bow. Each one was heartfelt, funny, or tear-jerking (sometimes all three), and I’ve kept them safely tucked away in my time capsule box.

Every item felt intentional, fun, and full of love, proof that when it comes to party planning, it really is all in the detail.

Games and Sentimental Moments
The games were such a fun part of the night and brought out everyone’s competitive side. We kicked things off with “He Said, She Said”, where the girls had to guess the bride and groom’s answers to a mix of cheeky and charming questions, it definitely got us all laughing.
Then came “Twenty Questions: Who Knows Corrina Best?”, which turned into a full-on quiz showdown. Louise and Rebecca absolutely nailed it, proving they know me better than I know myself. One of the most special touches of the evening was the “Advice & Wishes Cards”, each one handwritten, tied with a pink satin bow, and filled with thoughtful, funny, and genuinely lovely messages.

Planning a hen party and want to add a little extra sparkle? I’ve created a bundle of fun, free printables to help you celebrate in style, from games to keepsakes and everything in between.

And the memory garland? A string of printed photos and personalised notes from my girls, hung like a timeline of friendship. It definitely gave me a lump in my throat. It was creative, meaningful, and one of those details I’ll always remember.

We spent the night singing karaoke at full volume, belting out everything from cheesy throwbacks to girl-power anthems, all while sipping on our signature pink cocktail, The Pink & Fabulous Barbie (shoutout to Kirsty for mixing up the magic!). It was sweet, sparkly, and dangerously drinkable, basically, Barbie in a glass.
Here’s the downloadable cocktail recipe sheet plus two others, so you can make your own pink cocktail for your next party, because every glam night deserves a signature drink! 💖🍸

Some of us stayed the night in the hot tub until dawn, sipping cocktails and watching the sunrise over the estuary, a calm, peaceful, moment that felt like the perfect end to our Barbie dream night.

💡 Corrina’s Top Tip
Pick a theme that ties into a memory, it makes everything feel more personal and meaningful. My 30th birthday was Barbie themed, where we all dressed up as real-life Barbies, so bringing that energy into my hen party felt like a full-circle moment. It wasn’t just about the pink or the glam (though that was fab); it was about celebrating a version of myself that’s playful, confident, and surrounded by the people who know me best. When your theme reflects a part of your story, it becomes more than just a party, it becomes a memory in the making.

🫧 Saturday Spa Day: Bubbles, Bliss & Bridal Zen
After a night of karaoke and cocktails, we woke up to a continental breakfast spread that would make Pinterest proud. There was fresh fruit, buttery pastries, creamy Greek yogurt, and stacks of fluffy pancakes just waiting to be topped. I, being the chocoholic I am, drenched mine in Nutella. No regrets. It was indulgent, delicious, and exactly what was needed to refuel before a day of spa-side bliss.

But the real indulgence was the spa at Dylan Coastal Resort, they know how to do wellness. Infinity pool? Check. Sauna and steam rooms? Check. Outdoor vitality pool with coastal views? Double check.

The infinity pool was the dreamiest part of the spa. Floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over the estuary, and the view was honestly unreal.

We floated, chatted, and laughed as the clouds drifted by, soaking up the calm and taking a break from the wedding planning chaos. It felt like we were in some kind of bridal daydream, exactly the kind of calm I didn’t know I needed.

Then we made our way to the outdoor vitality pool, and that’s where the magic really happened. The warm water, the cool coastal breeze, and that view, it was the ultimate reset. I could feel every bit of wedding stress just melt away. It was like a full-body exhale. We soaked it all in (literally), and let the view do the rest.

And then came the ice bucket shower. Let’s just say… most of us admired it from a safe distance. But Sarah, full-blown hen hero, stepped under it like it was no big deal. One pull of the chain and she was drenched in freezing water, laughing her head off while the rest of us screamed just watching.

To top it off, we treated ourselves to the resort’s blush wine. One sip was delightful, one glass was dangerously strong! Whatever this mystery West Wales wine was, it had a power none of us expected. 🍷

🤠 Saturday Night: The Last Rodeo
This wasn’t just a theme, it was a tribute. I’ve been line dancing since I was 17, and over the years it’s become such a big part of my life. I’ve competed, perfected routines, and found a real sense of joy and community through it. So when the girls picked “The Last Rodeo” as the theme for Saturday night, I knew they’d absolutely nailed it. It wasn’t just for the aesthetic (though we looked amazing); it was their way of celebrating something that’s always been close to my heart.
Each friend had their own cowgirl alter ego, which made the whole night feel even more personal and perfectly tailored to our individual styles.
Me: Bridal Bandita
For my Last Rodeo, I mixed classic Western style with a touch of bridal glam: a strappy white tassel dress with lace detail, paired with a cropped white denim jacket that moved perfectly with every step. My long white cowgirl boots kept the look bold, and my white “bride” cowgirl hat pulled it all together. Flirty, fearless, and full of outlaw energy (with a soft bridal touch), it was everything I wanted in a hen party outfit. 🤍

Kirsty: Cowhide Cutie
Kirsty embraced classic Western style with a bold cowhide-inspired look. Her brown and white cow print bootcut trousers were the highlight, giving her outfit a true rodeo feel. She paired them with a brown leather halter top, keeping it effortlessly chic. Her white cowgirl boots (size 4 and 6… don’t ask!) added contrast, while her delicate chain belt with blue stone detail was the perfect finishing touch.

Tasha H: Rebel Rider
Tasha H was bold, fierce, and unapologetically rebellious, rocking a black lace tassel dress with fishnet sleeve gloves for extra edge. Her statement black hat, detailed with bull horns, made her look ready to take on the rodeo like an outlaw.
Her accessories were just as striking, a black leather belt, layered with a chain belt featuring a pentagram buckle, adding that rock ‘n’ roll energy. The final touch? Purple lipstick against fiery red hair, making her impossible to ignore. She looked like she had just ridden in on a Harley not a horse, adding that fearless, rebellious energy to the group.

Kate: Wildflower Wrangler
A boho cowgirl with a touch of earthy elegance, Kate embraced the wildflower aesthetic, rocking a black tassel dress giving her outfit movement and a little cowgirl, layered under an oversized denim jacket with red rose detail. The bohemian style black and brown boots were the show stopper. She was the free spirit of the night, always bringing that laid-back, effortless country charm to every moment.

Sarah: Sheriff Sarah
Sarah had a quiet Western confidence, standing tall with a steady presence. She wasn’t one to take charge loudly, but her grounded energy made the name fit perfectly. Sarah’s look reflected that Western sheriff spirit, a denim dress, brown tassel waistcoat, cinched with a big leather belt. Her black wide-brim cowgirl hat, adding authority, all she was missing was her pistol and sheriff’s badge.

Carla: Pink Rodeo Darling
Carla embraced playful Western charm, wearing a pink dress with a light blue denim gilet embroidered in pastel pink. Her plush crossbody cow bag added a fun touch, while her black leather boots, belt, and hat balanced the sweetness with a bold rodeo edge. The perfect girly outfit and full of personality; cute, confident, and every bit the darling of the rodeo.

Rachel: Ranger Rachel
Rachel had that true cowgirl authenticity, embracing the practical, adventure-ready Western look. She was the only one to wear traditional jeans, and rocked them, pairing with a sleeveless tassel jacket that added classic outback flair. Her cowgirl hat and boots grounded her look in true Yellowstone style, making her feel like she had just ridden in from a long cattle drive, true ranger style.

Tasha R: Bella Stallona
A fiery Italian, Tasha R embodied the untamed spirit of a Stallona, bold, fearless, and strong like a black stallion. Her black lace dress flowed like a wild mane, while a beige cropped tassel jacket and matching hat softened the look with a touch of Western elegance. With her striking red hair and quiet confidence, she carried herself like a true Stallona, ready to take the reins; just as she did when planning the hen.

After soaking in all the cowgirl-inspired fashion, we took a short five-minute walk from the coastal resort to Ty Glo, a cosy little spot tucked behind Laugharne Castle.
Ty Glo had a warm, laid-back vibe with a focus on fresh ingredients and proper homemade cooking, comfort food done right. The menu had everything from pizzas to grilled meats and plenty of sides, all served in a leafy, relaxed setting. And the best part? Dogs everywhere. Honestly, good food and good dogs, what more could you want?

Dinner was everything. I shared a big platter with one of the girls, loaded with baked camembert drizzled in honey, cured meats, beetroot hummus, olives, sundried tomatoes, roasted peppers, marinated artichokes, and warm crusty bread. It was full of really good flavours and just hit the spot after a full-on day.

Then came the pizza, just a classic Margherita with seasoned fries on the side. Simple, no fuss, and exactly what we needed after all the grazing. It was warm, cheesy, and honestly just really good.

It was time to turn up the energy. Since line dancing is basically second nature to me, it only felt right to teach the girls a beginner routine, and what better song to kick things off than A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey? It’s got that perfect mix of country and party vibes, and by the end, even the quieter girls were stomping along.

We had such a laugh learning it together, and the best part? We repeated the whole routine on the starlit dancefloor at my wedding, just without the cowgirl boots this time!
If anyone wants to master a beginner line dancing routine for their Last Rodeo hen party, here’s a video and step sheet to follow along to. It’s easy to learn, super fun, and guaranteed to get everyone up and moving, even the ones who swear they “don’t dance.” Yeehaw! 🤠
