Another fun take on a coordinated look is to have each friend channel a specific Spice Girl, just like the “Spice World 2019 Tour”, where each singer was backed by dancers styled in matching, inspired outfits.

One of my favourite examples is by Mirnol Party, who used varying heights to add depth to their cake table. Cake stands, crates, and stacked boxes can help you build levels, while themed props, like microphones, glittery sunglasses, or mini disco balls add personality. It’s a great way to showcase not just the cake, but also cupcakes, sweets, and party favours in a way that feels curated and fun.

If you’re recreating this at home, keep it simple with bite sized sandwiches, scones, and pastries. Add Union Jack canape flags, animal print napkins, or glittery drink stirrers to tie it all together.

If you’re not going full afternoon tea, here are a few quick and easy ways to spice up your spread:

Themed Food Labels: Add a playful twist with names like “Spice Up Your Slice” (pizza), “Say You’ll Brie There” (cheese board), “Too Much Trifle,” or “2 Become Bun” (mini burgers).

Retro 90s Treats: Think party rings, iced gems, Chupa Chups, ring pops, mini rolls and jelly cups, perfect for a nostalgic snack table.

DIY Snack Stations: Set up a popstar popcorn bar with flavoured toppings or a decorate your own biscuit station with edible glitter and icing pens.

Whether it’s a full on feast or just a few playful bites, make sure your food reflects the fun, flair, and fearless spirit of the Spice Girls.

🍸 Spice Girls Themed Cocktails

The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London, famous for that Wannabe staircase, once created a cocktail menu inspired by the Spice Girls. Why not take a little inspo and recreate your own “Re-Spiced” drinks at home?

  1. Spice (1996) – The debut that started it all, packed with classics like Wannabe, Say You’ll Be There, and 2 Become 1.
  2. Spiceworld (1997) – A pop masterpiece featuring Spice Up Your Life, Stop, and Too Much.
  3. Forever (2000) – A more R&B influenced sound with tracks like Holler and Let Love Lead the Way.
  4. Greatest Hits (2007) – A celebration of their biggest anthems, perfect for keeping the dance floor buzzing.

👗 Spice Girl Costume Contest

Kick things off with a fancy dress competition. Encourage guests to strut their stuff and show off their best Spice inspired looks. You can award prizes for “Most Authentic,” “Best Group Effort,” or even “Most Unexpected Spice.” It’s a great way to break the ice and get everyone into character.

🥤 A Pepsi Themed Throwback

Inspired by the iconic Pepsi Generation Next campaign, miniature Pepsi cans make a fun and nostalgic favour. Pair them with a custom label or glittery straw for a 90s style refreshment that’s as cool now as it was then.

Pop a “Girl Power” pen into each favour bag, perfect for jotting down lyrics, dreams, or empowering quotes. It’s a simple touch that ties in beautifully with the theme.

Add a handmade or colourful friendship bracelet to symbolise the unshakeable bond of the Spice Girls, and your guests. It’s a sweet, wearable reminder of the night’s girl gang energy.
