Til Death Do Us Party: A Halloween Rockabilly Wedding to Remember

Craig and Tasha’s wedding was a hauntingly beautiful mash up of vintage rockabilly flair and Halloween magic, and it’s giving us all the goosebumps (in the best way).

🕒 Time to read: 17 minutes

The couple chose 30th October, the eve of Halloween, for their big day, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. That date gave them all the spooky vibes without competing with trick or treat chaos. Smart move, right?

Set in the heart of Wales at the atmospheric Llwyn Country House, this wedding was a masterclass in how to blend personal style, seasonal charm, and timeless romance – a true celebration of cariad (that’s love in Welsh, for my non-Welshies!) So grab your broomstick and your best red lipstick, let’s dive into the details, because as we say here at Teacups and Glitter, it’s all in the detail.

Some people choose their wedding venue based on convenience or Pinterest boards. Tasha? She chose hers based on a childhood ghost story.

Craig and Tasha tied the knot at Llwyn Country House, a charming venue nestled in the Welsh countryside. But this wasn’t just any pretty manor house. As a child, Tasha used to explore the then derelict grounds, which were rumoured to be haunted. (She even fell through the roof of one of the outbuildings once, talk about commitment to the theme!)

Despite its spooky past, the venue had since been lovingly refurbished. But here’s the twist: the couple actually loved that the décor still had a slightly dated, old world feel. It gave the whole place a “witch’s cottage” vibe, warm, mysterious, and full of character.

The red walls and stained glass windows added to the moody, magical atmosphere, while the French doors opened onto a peaceful garden, perfect for displaying pumpkin lanterns carved by guests.

And let’s not forget the wooded area just outside, where fallen leaves and golden autumn light created the ultimate spooky season welcome, setting the scene for what we’d call a noson hud in Wales – a truly magical night.

It was the kind of setting that made you feel like you’d stepped into a storybook, or maybe a slightly haunted fairy tale.

When it comes to themed weddings, there’s always a fine line between costume party and classy celebration. But Craig and Tasha? They nailed it. Their fashion choices were a perfect blend of 1950s rockabilly style and subtle Halloween flair, proving you can be spooky and stylish.

Let’s start with Tasha, who turned heads for all the right reasons. While many expected her to go full gothic in black, she surprised everyone by staying traditional, with a twist. Her lace wedding dress from Honeypie Boutique was pure vintage elegance, but peek underneath and you’d spot a bold red tulle underskirt and a black lace sash. A little spooky, a lot fabulous.

She topped it off with a velvet cape (because drama is always welcome at a Halloween wedding) and a birdcage veil by Rhapsody by Ceri Baker, complete with a tiny skull detail sewn in. It was the perfect nod to the theme without going over the top.

And the music? Tasha walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, a subtle nod to the 1950s rock ‘n’ roll legend and a meaningful song Craig had shared with her early in their relationship. It was romantic, nostalgic, and perfectly in tune with their love story.

Her makeup, gifted by her friend Jess, was a flawless take on vintage beauty, think winged eyeliner, full lips, and a natural glow. And her hair? Styled into perfect pin up curls by her friend Tara, who had recently trained in retro hairstyles. The whole look was pure 1950s glamour.

Craig didn’t just show up, he made an entrance. Arriving in a classic red Cadillac (hired from Gary Morgan’s Live The Dream collection), he set the tone for a day full of retro flair and personal style.

His outfit was a perfect match for the theme: a grey wool morning coat from Slater Menswear, paired with a crisp white shirt and dark waistcoat. But the real showstopper? A vintage steampunk pocket watch, tucked neatly into his coat pocket. It added just the right amount of quirky charm and tied in beautifully with the couple’s love of all things alternative.

Craig’s look was sharp, timeless, and just a little bit theatrical, exactly what you want when you’re marrying a bride in a velvet cape under a canopy of pumpkin lanterns.

The bridal party didn’t just complement the theme, they amplified it. With a colour palette of black and red, they struck the perfect balance between Halloween drama and rockabilly sass.

The bridesmaids wore vibrant red dresses, each paired with customised black cardigans featuring a heart shaped, rockabilly style patch that read “Love.” It was a sweet, personal touch that tied their look together beautifully. Their hair was styled into 1950s victory rolls, held in place with matching bows that echoed the bride’s vintage vibe.

The maids of honour took the retro look a step further with full circle skirts and T-bar Mary Janes from Banned Retro. Practical, playful, and perfect for dancing the night away.

And the children in the bridal party? Absolute scene stealers. Craig and Tasha’s youngest daughter wore a colourful skull print dress from Metallimonsters, adorable with just the right amount of spooky.

The twins looked like they’d stepped out of a vintage Halloween postcard in checkerboard Vans from Schuh and skull and crossbones braces. Their outfits were fun, coordinated, and full of personality.

From the grown ups to the littlest guests, every member of the bridal party brought their own style to the celebration. It was a true team effort.

One of the trickiest parts of planning a Halloween themed wedding? Deciding whether to ask your guests to dress up. While a costume dress code can be fun, it also opens the door to the occasional novelty outfit (and no one wants a giant inflatable dinosaur in the background of their vows).

From my perspective, a masquerade ball dress code can be a great alternative; elegant, mysterious, and still on theme without the risk of joke costumes. But Craig and Tasha took a different route, and it worked beautifully.

They chose not to have a themed dress code, keeping things relaxed and guest friendly. Instead, they added a playful Halloween touch by offering themed masks and props at the photo booth, a brilliant way to let guests get into the spirit of the day without any pressure. (We’ll talk more about the photo booth magic later in the post, it’s worth the wait!) It was a clever way to keep the vibe festive and inclusive, while still honouring the spooky season in style.

When it came to their vows, Craig and Tasha didn’t just say “I do”, they told a story. Inspired by their shared love of Tim Burton films, they chose to incorporate lines from The Corpse Bride, a gothic fairy tale that blends the living and the dead in a hauntingly beautiful way.

In the film, the vows are spoken between two souls from different worlds, and that sentiment resonated deeply with the couple. They used the same vows from the movie in their ceremony, creating a moment that was both theatrical and heartfelt. It was a perfect fit for their Halloween wedding: romantic, a little eerie, and completely unique.

The choice added a layer of storytelling to the ceremony, making it feel like something out of a dark fairy tale. It was a reminder that love doesn’t always follow the rules, and that sometimes, the most meaningful promises are the ones that feel a little bit magical.

Craig and Tasha didn’t just throw a fabulous wedding, they made sure their nearest and dearest felt truly appreciated. Their bridal party gifts were a perfect mix of heartfelt, handmade, and Halloween chic.

Each member of the bridal party received a personalised gift basket, carefully chosen with items that reflected the theme and their friendship. Inside were candles, a single red rose, and LED bottle lights, a clever nod to potion bottles and apothecary magic.

But the standout gift? A personalised cushion for each maid of honour. One side featured their initials, while the other displayed a friendship poem that was equal parts quirky and touching:

“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” – Dr. Seuss

And:

“When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of ‘me too!’ be sure to cherish them. Because those weirdos are your tribe.” – A.J. Downey

It was a beautiful way to say thank you. Not just for helping with the wedding, but for being part of their weird and wonderful world.

If ever there was a cake that told a story, this was it. Craig and Tasha’s wedding cake wasn’t just dessert, it was a centrepiece, a conversation starter, and a work of edible art.

Created by local cake artist Scrum Diddly, the cake was a multi-tiered masterpiece that tied together every element of the wedding theme. It featured skulls, potion bottles, steampunk gears, red roses, and even a replica of the Hocus Pocus spellbook. Each detail was carefully crafted to reflect the couple’s love of Halloween, vintage style, and a touch of theatrical flair.

The skull toppers were a particular highlight, customised to resemble the bride and groom, complete with Craig’s beard and Tasha’s birdcage veil. It was spooky, sweet, and seriously clever.

In a fun twist, the middle and top tiers weren’t edible, they were designed to be kept as keepsakes. But the bottom tier, featuring the spellbook and skulls, was fully edible and just as delicious as it looked. Instead of the traditional cake cutting, Craig and Tasha opted for something a little more dramatic: they each took a bite out of their skull toppers, revealing ghoulish red and green sponge inside. It was unexpected, and totally on theme.

This cake didn’t just taste good, it told a story. And like everything else at this wedding, it was all in the detail.

Guests were guided to their seats via a seating plan titled “Resting Places”, a delightfully morbid play on gravestones, death, and, of course, where guests would sit to rest and enjoy the wedding breakfast. Each guest had to search through mini potion vessels to find their name. Once they located their bottle, they discovered their “poison”, aka the name of their table. It was clever, interactive, and perfectly on theme.

The top table, where the bride and groom sat, was inspired by The Corpse Bride. Decorated with his and her skulls, it symbolised the union of two souls, one of the most romantic (and slightly spooky) nods to their vows.

This table paid homage to Hocus Pocus, featuring a cauldron, ladle, and spellbook, a playful recreation of the scene where the Sanderson sisters cast their infamous spell. You could almost hear them chanting.

A table inspired by tragic love stories, from Romeo and Juliet to Snow White. It featured poison bottles, a spellbook, and a single rosy apple, a beautiful and slightly ominous reminder that love can be both sweet and dangerous.

This table was designed using ingredients from a real love spell in Tasha’s personal spellbook. From herbs to crystals, it was a magical little altar to the power of love (and maybe a little witchcraft).

The kids’ table was a spooky pun brought to life. Decorated with fun, child friendly Halloween props, it was designed to keep the little monsters entertained.

Each centrepiece was more than just decoration, it was a conversation starter, a photo opportunity, and a reflection of the couple’s creativity. It’s safe to say no one forgot where they were sitting.

Forget the usual pen and paper guest book. Craig and Tasha gave this tradition a spooky makeover that fit their Halloween theme to a tee.

Instead of signing a book, guests were invited to write their messages and well wishes on individual tags, which they then hung on a black twig tree. The result? A striking, sculptural display that looked like something straight out of a haunted forest.

The idea was more than just visually haunting, it was also a subtle nod to the Salem witch trials, where those accused of witchcraft were often symbolically (and tragically) associated with trees and hanging. Here, though, the symbolism was reclaimed and reimagined as a tree of love, memory, and connection.

When planning a wedding as unique as Craig and Tasha’s, finding the right photographer is key, and they absolutely nailed it with Lilith In Bloom Photography.

Tasha was introduced to Lilith through a friend who had previously done some alternative and 1950s style shoots with her. Intrigued, the couple arranged a meeting, and the connection was instant. The moment they spotted her Labyrinth tattoo, they knew she was their kind of person. (Let’s be honest, shared fandoms are a solid foundation for any creative collaboration).

Lilith’s style was the perfect match for their vision: moody, artistic, and full of personality. She didn’t just take photos, she told a story. One of her standout ideas? A crystal ball portrait, which added a mystical, otherworldly touch to the wedding album. It was imaginative, a little eerie, and completely in tune with the theme.

From candid pumpkin lit moments to dramatic portraits, Lilith captured the heart and soul of the day. Every image reflected the couple’s love, their style, and their wonderfully weird sense of fun.

No Halloween wedding would be complete without a little frightful fun, and Craig and Tasha delivered with their brilliantly named Kill Booth. This wasn’t your average photo booth with a few props and a curtain. Oh no. This was a full on DIY masterpiece.

Tasha, with the help of her talented friend Rhiane, transformed a corner of the venue into a spooktacular photo zone. Rhiane’s painting skills were on full display, from the hand painted masquerade masks to the custom selfie sticks and even a “head in the hole” painting of the couple. It was playful, theatrical, and totally on theme.

Guests loved it. Whether they were striking a pose with a skull mask or pretending to be part of a haunted portrait, the Kill Booth became a hub of laughter, creativity, and Instagram worthy moments (see, we told you we’d come back to it!)

And here’s the best part: it wasn’t just about the photos. It was a clever way to get guests mingling, breaking the ice, and embracing the Halloween spirit without needing a full costume.

In a wedding full of standout moments, the Kill Booth was a fan favourite, and a perfect example of how a little DIY magic can go a long way.

As the evening settled into a warm, pumpkin lit glow, Craig and Tasha took to the dance floor for a moment that was pure magic. Surrounded by their guests, each holding softly glowing pumpkin lanterns, they shared their first dance as husband and wife.

Their song of choice? “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica. Not your typical wedding ballad, but absolutely perfect for them. The song was originally written by frontman James Hetfield while on tour, as a love letter to his wife, a reminder that no matter where life takes you, or what chaos surrounds you, nothing else matters but the two of you.

It was raw, emotional, and deeply personal. The kind of moment that gives you goosebumps (and maybe a little tear if you’re the sentimental type). It also beautifully tied together the wedding’s themes of love, individuality, and a touch of rebellion.

Craig and Tasha’s wedding was more than just a celebration, it was a love letter to who they are as a couple. From vintage lace and velvet capes to potion bottles and pumpkin lanterns, every detail was carefully chosen, beautifully executed, and full of personality.

They proved that a Halloween wedding doesn’t have to be all cobwebs and costumes. It can be elegant, heartfelt, and wildly creative, especially when you blend it with a bit of rockabilly theme and a whole lot of love.
