Struggling to find an affordable baby shower favour that your guests would love to take home? If you’re looking for a gift to give your guests to thank them for coming; then these driftwood tealights are perfect as a party favour.
We are asked at Teacups and Glitter if party favours are necessary and who should pay for them? The answer is no, they are not always necessary, but they are a fun addition to your baby shower and a special way to thank your guests for coming. It is usually a thank you from the mum-to-be so she and / or the dad would normally pay for these small gifts, but the baby shower host or the grandparents may want to contribute too.
We hosted a rose garden baby shower and decided upon these rustic tealights as party favours. We purchased the heart shaped driftwood candle holders from The Range which we found in the wedding section. We placed a baby pink tealight in the holder, wrapped it in cellophane and matched with baby pink curling ribbon. The great thing is this idea could easily be changed to baby blue, lemon, or cotton white.
We placed the party favours on each guests table setting. The pretty pink heart gift sat perfectly amongst the other pink baby shower decor.
In the centre of the table we placed a framed poem for all guests to read:
“Here is a candle that twinkles so bright, It’s our gift for you to light,
On the day our star makes her way, Please make a wish on our joyous day“
We think it would have been better if we had personalised tags attached to each favour so that guests did not have to remember the poem when they took their favours home but we were still really happy with how they were presented and would make the changes for next time.
We think the poem is a really special way of involving everybody when the baby arrives and each guest gets to enjoy the sweet smelling candle.
